  • (Produced by the National Film Board of Canada) Records a lecture by out-spoken nuclear critic, Dr. Helen Caldicott, National President of Physicians for Social Responsibility. She traces the development of atomic weapons, describes the wide-spread damage and suffering caused by the World War II bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and compares the devastating power of 1940's bombs to today's apocalyptically potent weaponry. Interspersed with her lecture is archival footage which illustrates her points. Images of the Hiroshima survivors heighten the urgency of her plea to rid the world of nuclear weapons.
