Temple of Apollo at Bassae
- 1974 ----- color ----- 16 min ----- 16mm
According to the legend, the temple, created by the designer of the Parthenon, Ictinus, was built in time of plague to the god Apollo the Healer. Doric columns surround the exterior of the temple while the interior housed a Corinthian Capital, the first known in the world's history. A marble frieze depicts the stories of the Athenian's battle against the Amazons and the battle of the Lapiths and the Centaurs. Time has stood still for this testament to Greek technology and art.
