(Upon Reflection series)
Host Al Page speaks with Alvin Weinberg, former Director of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Guest Lecturer at the University of Washington. They discuss the prospect of nuclear war in the near future, the purpose that the bombing of Hiroshima served, and the issue of national sovereignty with regards to nuclear energy. Mr. Weinberg's principle message is that increased technology has created an "age of anxiety" and the specific inventions of the atomic bomb and the microchip have caused world politics to change dramatically in a very short period of time.
