Hando has the qualities of a leader and a strong loyalty to his friend, Davey. But he is consumed by a blind belief in the doctrine of racial purity as preached by Hitler. Director Wright succeeds in creating a disturbing film which reveals the ordinariness and vulnerability of the characters, while depicting the horrifying results of their simpleminded race hatred and nihilism.
