Jama Masjid Street Journal

  • Mira Nair's (Salaam Bombay!) first film is a personal record of street life around the Jama Masjid, or Great Mosque, in the old city of Delhi, India. Born in a small Indian town and educated at Harvard, Ms. Nair describes her life as having been spent "between two worlds." This film is, perhaps, more interesting in what it says about the filmmaker than what it says about the Moslem community that centers itself, both literally and geographically, around the Great Mosque.
